Happy Family Day!

Hi Everyone!

Hope you're having a wonderful day whether you're home with your family or out at work. Here in Ontario we are celebrating Family Day so I am home relaxing with my hubby and the kids. My daughter, Molly is a budding paper crafter, so when we saw an adorable little bunny basket that Chris Galbraith had made, she suggested we make an Easter chicken to go with the Easter Bunny. I have to be honest, other than cutting the card stock, Molly did the punching out, gluing together and designing! The 3D beak was totally her idea as well. I was just going to punch out one of the 5 petal flowers and cut one petal off when she took it, snipped a piece off, folded it up and put it on his face. She's a natural I tell ya! Now she wants to make a video!

The recipe for this is really simple - Fancy Favor Box cut from So Saffron for the base, Scallop Circle Bigz Die cut 2 from Daffodil Delight for the body front and back. His eyes are 2 Whisper White 1" circles, 2 Basic Black 3/4" circles and 1 Daffodil Delight 1" circle cut in half for eyelids. The beak and feet are cut from Cajun Craze using the 5 petal flower punch, and his little wings are the birds from the 2-step bird punch. I have to say I think he turned out pretty cute! Whooooo Doesn't Love an Owl?

Hi Everyone!

With Valentine's Day coming soon I have been looking for some cute treat holder ideas to make with my Stamp Club girls - and here she is! I would love to take credit for this sweet little owl, but she is a CASE of the original from Lynn Put over at The Queen's Scene. Made from the Pillow Box Die, there is actually no stamping on this project, just lots of our fabulous SU! punches. I loved how Lynn did her's in the pinks so I decided to do the same - a great color choice considering my kids both have female teachers and these will make perfect Valentine's for them. I like the fact that they easily hold some Hershey's kisses! Mmmm chocolate!

Stamp Club Project

Hi Everyone!

Well, here it is, December 1st! The count down is on! I have one final Stamp Club get together coming up this weekend and this is one of the projects I am going to have them make.

As always I see lots of these little luminaries popping up all over the place and I put them on my to do list and never get around to it. This time however; I was intent on trying it out, so with tutorial in hand from Splitcoaststampers I set about to make one for myself!

I followed the basic template for the luminary, but substituted a base made of Crumb Cake card stock so that I could add designer series papers of differing patterns on each side. I chose the Deck the Halls designer paper because I love it's vintage Christmas look. Around the bottom I trimmed it with (sadly) some retired Riding Hood Red taffeta ribbon. On the holly berry sides I used the small holly stamp from the Tags til Christmas set, colored in with Stamin' write makers, punched out with the medium oval punch and attached to the luminary with a Stampin' dimensional. On the Cherry Cobbler print sides I made a little poinsettia using the 5-Petal Flower Extra Large punch. I punched 2 of the flowers out of Cherry Cobbler card stock and the sponged them over with Bravo Burgundy to give them some dimension. I placed on a top the other, with the petals offset, and the used one of the new Glimmer Brads in Champagne (basics collection) as the center. I attached these to the luminary using mini glue dots. For the windows on the luminary I used the new Decorative Label Extra large punch and put a piece of vellum card stock behind each. And there you have it! I Just Love These Tealight Holders!

Hi Everyone!

Yes I know it's been awhile since I've posted a project and I apologize for that, but alas life is busy and sometimes my crafting has to take a backseat. The nice thing about this little project is that it only takes about 5 minutes! WooHoo!
You have probably seen these floating around on various blogs and other websites and it is because they are super cute and super fast to whip off! The longest part of this project was actually the trip to the local hardware store to by the roof flashing! To make this darling little votive holder you simply need to buy roof flashing (comes in a roll about 12"x36"), use the Flower Folds BIGZ Die, the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder and your Big Shot. Cut the flashing into a strip that is long and long enough to cover the Flower Folds Die and run it through the Big Shot. I used the 3 biggest flowers for this one, but you can decide for your self.
*hint*Make sure there is enough pressure on the die as it is run through the Big Shot - I used some paper shims to make it a bit tighter so that the flowers would pop out of the metal without too much effort.
Once you have your flowers punched out, one at a time, put them into the embossing folder of your choice and run them through the Big Shot. After you have embossed all your layers, gently fold up the petals, layer your pieces ( I used mini glue dots to attach my layers) and Voila!
Yup! That simple! These would make a great hostess gift as a set, or a teacher's gift, or as part of the setting on a Wedding reception table... the possibilities are endless!

I found some time to stamp in between watching the Olympics! Even though we're still in February, I figured it's not too early to start on some Easter projects. I have seen lots of these little Top Note boxes and wanted to try one for myself. I'm very pleased with how it turned out and how simple it really was to make! You can find the tutorial for this little box here.
I love Easter. To me it means spring time, and what better colors and papers to use on an Easter box but the Shades of Spring designer series paper from the Occasions Mini. The box top and bottom use a piece of the designer paper in Orchid Opulence. I made the box itself from card stock in Pretty in Pink, and the ribbon surrounding the box is the new 5/8" satin ribbon in Pretty in Pink as well. The embellishments on the front were an easy choice. I used Certainly Celery card stock and ran it through my Big Shot with the Label 2 die from the Lots of Tags Sizzlits. I used the Happy Easter from the Well Scripted stamp set (also in the Occasions Mini), inked with Orchid Opulence and stamped onto Whisper White card stock for the greeting. I then punched it out using the wide oval punch, sponged the edges with Certainly Celery ink and then centered it onto the tag. The final element on the box is the flower. I love, love LOVE these little Sweet Pea Stitched Felt accents! They are so cute, and add so much to your projects! I haven't even used up all that I have, and I've already ordered more! LOL!

So there's my little project for today. It is also going to be one of the projects for my Stampers Club this weekend. I'm sure they will like it! It's just the right size to hide a little bag of the Cadbury Mini Eggies. I hope you like this and try one for yourself very soon! Stampers Club Project

Hi Everyone!
Isn't this just the cutest little gift box! When I saw this on UStamp with Dawn and Friends, I knew I had to make one! This fab little project is courtesy of the fab Linda Hansen. For those of you who don't know who Linda is, she used to work for Stampin' Up creating awesome projects and coming up with wonderful tips that she shared with us Demonstrators that we could in turn share with you, our customers. Linda is a Creative Crew Girl with UStamp so we can still benefit from her talents with ink and paper.
Because this little box is super cute and easy to put together, I decided that it will be one of the projects we will be making at our Stampers Club meeting this coming weekend. I'm sure my girls are going to love this as much as I do! For this project I used Soft Suede card stock for the lid and the box form, pieces from the Christmas Cocoa Specialty designer series paper and the Delightful Decorations stamp set. The ribbon is from the Alpine Originals collection, this was from last year, but it's still available on the Clearance Rack. What?! Didn't know we had a clearance section? The lid of the box is Soft Suede card stock that was run through the Big Shot with the Top Note die and then embossed using the Petals-a-Plenty textured impressions folder. The ribbon goes under the box and through the sides of the lid and then ties on top. To get the ribbon through the lid, use a utility knife and make a slice the width of the ribbon on both sides. The tag is one of the Delightful Decorations stamped in Real Red ink and then punched out with the Ornament punch. The center is another of the stamps from the Delightful Decorations set, inked in Old Olive, punched out with the 3/4" punch and adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals. Then I punched a small hole in the top and threaded through some Gold Elastic Cord .

Where has this week gone??

Hi Everyone!

Well, this week has been a busy one, that's for sure! Getting the kids back to school, making sure they are on the right bus and getting them back into their schedules again! But the good news is that we ALL survived! And now we're enjoying the long weekend together! I did manage to squeeze in a little quality creative time this week and here he is! I'd like to introduce you to Jack! I had seen his grimace on Lynn Put's blog and then again the other day on Gretchen Barron's blog and figured I'd give him a try! He was so easy! And no stamping for a change, just our SU! punches and the Pillow Box die .

He was so easy in fact that I have decided that he will be given to each my of children's teachers for Halloween. I love Halloween! I've always enjoyed dressing up in the costumes and I still do! The hospital that I work at lets us dress up and I do, every year! It makes it easy when I get home, then I only have to get the kids ready and I'm all set to guard the door!
